An estimated three to five million pets are put to sleep each year in the United States, greater than the number of human deaths from all causes combined. NYCA can have no impact on this situation without your support. Your gift can save an animal from death.

 

We are a very small organization and receive no governmental funding. All donations go directly to rescuing animals. There are no employees, no administration fees and no professional fundraising commissions.

 

NYCA is a New York non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation with federal I.R.S. tax-exempt status (EIN 13-3761577). All donations made to us are fully tax-deductible in the United States.

 

Given the difficult situation in the animal rescue world, and the impact of the financial crisis on charitable organizations everywhere, any donation is graciously accepted.

If you are not currently able to foster or adopt, another great way to see your donation dollars at work is by sponsoring an animal. By sponsoring an animal, you agree to financially support the animal until it finds a forever home.

 

Your dollars will pay for the animal's veterinary care and boarding costs, until foster or permanent placement can be found.

 

Please contact us if you are interested in being paired with a specific animal in need. If desired, we may allow you to attend and select the animal to be saved, or alternatively you could request to be present and observe the process. There is no requirement to do this, but if you are interested in this we kindly request you call in advance to discuss. Most often we choose from available animals whose time is up and euthanization is imminent.

 

Many employers will match donations or charitable contributions of their staff members and retirees, doubling the total amount of the contribution to the charity. You can inquire with your employer to see if they provide this employee benefit to you, or search matchinggifts.com. If so, they should have a “matching gift” form available for you to fill out, which you can mail to NYCA.

 

A planned gift is an important way to leave a legacy of your compassion for animals and to help sustain the financial resources of NYCA for as long as you desire. This can easily be a part of a donor's overall financial, tax and estate planning goals.

 

Since planned gifts come from a donor's assets and not income, significant tax benefits can be achieved for both the donor and charity.
